The cover of the power cable running from the electrical meter to the electrical panel inside my house was badly frayed and had to be replaced. I searched through the angel's list, and identified one with the most customers' feedback and the highest rating, and it was the Root Electric. As it turned out, they deserve all the kudos that their customers have lavished on them.What they ended up contracted to do was a electrical service upgrade from 150 to 200 amp for my house. In addition to all the wiring and rewiring they had to do, they secured the county electrical permit for the upgrading, scheduled a visit by the county inspector for their work, arranged for the power company to replace the other section of the power cable and hook up the new electrical meter, and then they scheduled another county inspection. This was a big help for me because I didn't even know what I had to do and whom I should call.Throughout this whole process, they were responsive to all my questions either in person, by phone or by email, keeping me informed of the scheduling and wasted little of my time, and caused little interruption of our daily life. We were without power for less than two hours. Their charge was competitive to those special promotions that some other electrical contractor advertized for similar upgrading. Needless to say, I'm extremely pleased with their work and will definitely call on them when I need any electrical work done.

When I bought my home, I was referred to Bill Root for electrical work in my new home. I had already placed some calls and was concerned that the estimates I received were not really estimates at all. I had licensed electricians come in and tell me all the work I needed would be charged by the hour because they didn't know what they would encounter. Now if you are experienced, why wouldn't you be able to look at the job, assess it and give me an estimate.Bill Root on the other hand, answered his phone, made an appointment to meet me at my home and arrived on time to talk business. He knew I had other workers coming in and he was clear on what he could do and what could turn into a headache. He provides options. He sent 4-5 workers and they finished in 2-1/2 days. Some of the other electricians were saying 1-2 weeks to complete the job. Bill sent a worker to tweak a couple of items as it was a big job. He was timely and efficient on those visits also. I only call them. His father, who is also Bill Root, is a master electrician. The rest of the guys are courteous and never leave a mess. I am one of those people that research everything to get projects done around the house. Electricity is a tricky thing. Make sure you pick the right electrician....professional, experienced and insured. I found one.

Tyler, from Root Electric replaced an old ceiling fan. He called ahead to notify me he was on his way. He was professional and very friendly. The work took 1.5 hours. He was thoughtful in that he cleaned up after his job and even took off his shoes to keep the floors clean.

Mr. Root (the owner) came out to diagnose a short in our upstairs wiring that had the power out in 1/2 the upstairs. Great! He found the short quickly and fixed it. After seeing our flickering lights (not related to the short upstairs,) he advised me to call the local power company to check the exterior and street wiring since the interior breaker box was OK. That advice was perfect! The power company came out and ran new wires the same day. We'll be calling Root for all our break/fix and remodel needs. They were prompt, professional, and priced just right.

We needed 17 recessed lights installed in our kitchen, living room, dining room and foyer as well as an electric outlet and coaxial drop being relocated for TV wall mount. When Bill arrived he looked over each area and gave us a good overview of what type of lighting would work, where it would best be placed and how much lighting would be ideal. These guys make it obvious that they do this type of work routinely and their experience is one of the shining points of dealing with them....Root Electric created a proposal that broke down the work to be done and total cost by each area or room in the house that way all we had to do was pick and choose what solutions/options worked best for us. Lastly, when it came to installation, the crew arrived on time and made a seriously conscious effort to avoid putting holes in the ceiling when finalizing the grid/layout. They did the job quickly, cleanly and with great expertise.
