We are very excited to announce a new way to receive estimates from Root Electric!  In addition to free in-home estimates, we are also offering free "virtual estimates" using FaceTime, Zoom, or WhatsApp.  All you need is a smartphone, an email address, and an optional tape measure.  

Here is how it works:  

Please fill out the form below or call our office at 703 494 3989, just like you would to set up a traditional in-home estimate.  Let us know that you would like a virtual estimate, and let us know which video conferencing platform you prefer, whether it's FaceTime, Zoom, or WhatsApp. If you aren't sure which one you want to use, we can make a suggestion.  Just like with a traditional, in-home estimate, we will set up a date for the virtual estimate, and give you a 2-hour time window for the appointment.  When our estimator is ready for your appointment, he will call you at your contact number and make final arrangements for the video conference.  

During the virtual estimate, please be ready to walk through the inside of your house and along the exterior of your house, and to point the phone's camera at objects that the estimator needs a closer look at.  For some installations, you may need a tape measure to provide some rough measurements.  Don't worry, we will not ask you to open anything dangerous or crawl into a place where you do not feel comfortable, such as an attic or crawlspace.  We have enough experience performing electrical work in people's homes so that we can fill in the blanks where needed.  In some instances, we may need to set up an in-person follow-up if a particular item is too technical to be accurately assessed over a video conference.  

Traditional, in-home appointments generally take between 15 minutes and 45 minutes, (the bulk of them being 15 to 20 minutes) depending on the amount of work that you would like us to look at, and you can expect a virtual estimate to take about the same amount of time.  Just as with an in-home estimate, it will take about 1 to 3 days to respond with a proposal.
